The MOC Christmas Party.
Sunday December 17.

Anyone who received their Christmas Min Mag couldn’t help but get in the Christmas spirit looking at the quality and presentation ( another triumph John ), and set the scene for our second Christmas party bash at Wests Leagues Club, Bardon on the above date.

Santa came early for the McCormacks in the form of a blue shirt waving a laser gun just near the venue - \\$130 to the Police Christmas Fund. I was told the little yellow 850 couldn’t go over 50!

36 cars disgorged various of our members, with lots of kids to enjoy the day. The Whittington Family drove all the way from Toowoomba to be with us. Dave McGregor was our MC and kept all entertained with his ribald commentary and music. The merchandise girls headed by Pat and Cassie McQuilken did well with a stand at the front so our members could catch up on their Christmas purchases. Glen Carpenter, Trev and Michael Moy and Matt Elliston did a sterling job prising more Christmas cheer from the members’ pockets for the raffles. The tables quickly filled on the sultry day, and there was an enormous rush when the wet bar opened at the Club eagerly led by Crash.

Santa arrived by air again thanks to Channel Nine News, with the fat jolly chap ringing his bell and escorted by millions of kids waiting for their Christmas presents.

Lunch was then the order of the day with a variety of meat joints and dishes complementing the feast, but unfortunately the queue was a bit long and slow so we might have to get Jeff Coplick in next time for a bit more meat carving. Pity about that bloke taking the tickets and ticking off the names before you could eat – must have been doing a survey.

A period of adult games ( not those ) followed with mini Mini racing on the floor and quizzes on the podium. Door prizes and raffles were drawn, and surprise surprise, Dave Perkins scooped the pool again.

Festivities ended mid afternoon, and thanks to Wests for the use of facilities and for the organisers of another great bash.

See you at the next one.
